No, the Braille Plus has both a braille keyboard and the phone keypad. On the
braille keyboard there are six keys corresponding to the dot number keys on a
braillewriter. This portion of the board is on the top surface of the Braille
Plus closest to the volume up/down bar. On the surface of the Braille Plus
closer to you, there are three additional keys. The left key is a shift, the
larger center key is a space key and the right most key in this group of three
is a control key.

So does the Braille Plus do away with the phone keypad then?
