[icon-discuss] Orion measurements?

Margaret, Orion SE is just long enough from left to right to fit its very
ergonomic Braille keyboard. Orion 18 is just a little longer than Orion SE,
so it can fit the 18 cell Braille display. Personally, I am impressed at how
compact these devices are.

Actual measurement will be released at a later date.

Concerning the below discussion,
Would it be too soon to ask for the approximate measurements/size and
weight of the Orion? This is not meant as a flip question---some of us with
extra issues need to factor in such considerations, when choosing products,
either adaptive or mainstream. I recently bought a product based solely on
it's size and weight, even though its larger cousin would have been far
more versatile.
Many thanks,
Margaret

Richard, APH and LevelStar will each market their own branded versions of
the Icon and Braille+ follow-on products.

The Levelstar versions will be known as Orion. There will be 2 LevelStar
Orions, one sporting an 18 cell Braille display, and the other one featuring
a phone numpad instead. Both Orion versions will sport highly ergonomic
integrated Braille keyboards. There will be no LevelStar-branded Qwerty
keyboards dedicated to Orion Braille tablets.

I apologize for the distressful info trickle ... Before you know it, it will
be summertime ... and your thirst for Orion info shall be quenched (grins!)

Thanks for the measurements. I have been looking at the competition and have
been more than a bit shocked by how much larger the other units are. Do we
know if and when the details of the new icon will be released? The bits and
peaces way this is being announced is somewhat troubling. Also, will there
be any means to purchase the unit with a braille key board directly from
level star? The novelty of dealing with two companies for any service issue
has warn out long ago.
I do hope little things like the news stand and rss program will be retained.
Although you can do rss and newspapers with other units it looks like its far
more difficult.
