Hi. Does this browse option work for anybody else? When I do it, I just get
empty node. I had to use the suggestion Jenny made for sharing a folder.

Hi steve,

We have a browse option that should give you all the available work groups
and
machines, etc,on the network to which you are connected. You should be able
to
select a work group, them machine, then folder, and press Select to connect
to
it. You would then be asked for a user name and password. if they are not required, press OK, and the location is saved and connected to. this option

didn't work for her, that's the reason I gave her the alternative.

Jenny,

If I understand you correctly, I will have to manually enter the path for
each of the folders in my network that I want to share. I can certainly do

that, but I thought that was the purpose of having a work group.

Hi Jane,

I am not near a computer, am writing this on my Icon, so can't join you in
the
LevelStar room. But let me suggest a different way of connecting to your
shares that might get you better results. When in the Network folders
list,
press the Menu key and choose new folder. Then type in your location
manually
using //computer name/share name. so, if your computer is Jane, and you're
sharing your My Documents folder you would type //Jane/My Documents.
Remember
that if you change the share name of the folder in the file sharing
properties,
that you need to enter the share name, not the actual folder name. If you
don't change it, it defaults to the name given to the folder, and that's
what
you should enter.

I know my file sharing is turned on because I can see my Icon from our

saying "empty node, browse for network folder."

Jane, still in the LS room
