Hi Claud,
I saw a sync braille that a friend had and they are really light.

It would be great if you could connect a SincBraille or one of the other
small Braille displays to the unit, either via USB or Bluetooth.

I have actually used my braille plus over an entire weekend to ssend and
receive email. I have even downloaded two or three things simultaneously
while going through email.
I haven't actually used it to take notes because I am much faster on a
qwerty keyboard than with a braille keyboard. Hence, I am awaiting the
docking station.
The only thing I have never liked about a speech only alternative like the
icon is that I want to check and/or edit my typing on the fly and You can't
have an ear but in one ear and really listen to the meeting with the other
like you can with a braille display and both ears free<grin>.
But if they ever get a braille display that works reliably, that would make
a big difference to me.
Since the unit does so much more than comparable units, in my opinion, the
only thing lacking is a braille display and, in my case, a qwerty
keyboard<grin>.

Hi Rich,
You bring up an excellent point.
I will use the Braille Plus for work as soon as they get the calendar sync
feature to work correctly and get it working with a braille display.
Those are the only two reasons I have not given up on the Braille Note PK
and still use it as my primary work device.

The GPS will be a nice feature, but for professional uses, those other two
reasons are by far the most important.

The majority of Braille note users do not have GPS, and, the reason

A
Braille note has a refreshable Braille display, and that is important
to some.
However, this brings me to some other questions. I see mail on this
list about downloading podcasts, RSS feeds, music etc. I rarely,
however, see mail from anyone who is using the Icon or the Braille Plus
for anything besides well, pleasure.
I would love to hear from someone who is actually using either device
to do real work. For instance, is anyone using either device to take
notes in meetings? To keep important appointment information? As
someone who can make recommendations for clients, it is fairly
important to gain some of this information. Yes, the Icon and Braille
Plus have many unique and wonderful features, but when it comes to
procuring products for clients, I can't justify purchasing an Icon
because the client can download NBC nightly news!
Therefore, if anyone on this list is using one of these devices either
as a student or a professional, I'd love to hear about it.
You can either write to the list or write me off list.
