[icon-discuss] Re: Bookshelf Questions

Thanks, all. The suggestions helped me figure out what I was doing
wrong. Whenever I used the Copy Books to Bookshelf feature, I would navigate
to my hard drive, but instead of pressing Right Arrow to open the drive, I was pressing Enter
which, of course, started the copying process without giving me the chance
to select a folder. I'm glad I finally realized my mistake, but I can see
where it will be much easier to simply place the books in my Import file to
start with. I just have to remember to select Update Catalog when I add or
delete a book, as I prefer to keep the auto update feature turned off.

Paula, I recommend that you do not use the copy-to-bookshare feature, but
you simply place documents that you want to import into the hard drive,
under:

library/books/import.

Then start the bookshelf. Bookshelf will import those documents
automatically from the import folder, and will NOT look anywhere else.
After importation, you should delete the original files from the import
folder, lest Bookshelf will attempt to import them again next time it is
started.

Subject: [icon-discuss] Bookshelf Questions

Hello,

I have two questions regarding the Bookshelf feature. First, when I
download books that are textfiles and then copy them to the Bookshelf, I
somehow end up with duplicate copies of each file in my All Books folder.
If
I delete the extras, they are added back in, the next time I copy books to
the bookshelf. How do I prevent this problem?

Second, whenever I select Copy Books to Bookshelf, any textfiles on my
Icon are copied over, including files I've created in the Word Processor.
How can I make sure that only the files I want are copied to the
bookshelf?

Thanks,
Paula
