The best option I can think of for that situation is Mandrake.  It is one 
of the simpler distros to use, and there is a release of Mandrake designed 
for gaming.  It comes with TransGaming's WineX, which works with most 
modern games.  I personally have used Mandrake, and it works well for me, 
but I haven't tried the gaming version yet; I'm not even sure if it's 
available for free.
