[huskerlug] linux for newbies

If any of you were to start someone out on a linux install, what distro
would you give them.  
I talked to a 13 yr old kid that has a new computer.  he tried to use a
copy of XP, but of course it didn't let him register.   His mother asked
me about linux. 

If you were to install linux for this kid, what flavor?  I'm partial to
RH and not very familiar with other distros.

This kid has a chronic problem with destroying a windows install, so It
needs to be as simple as possible.   Also, she tells me they are on
dialup so package management should be minimal.  last but not least, 
his primary use for the computer would be gaming.
