Unfortunately, there are any opensource virus scanners that work very well
right now (its a lot of work to keep up with all the latest virii ==> $$$ ).
You're pretty much stuck with a closed source solution. Sure you can get
some scanners that catch a subset of malware, but I wouldn't rely on them
soley.
On the closed source side, f-prot has worked pretty well for me on Linux.
