These problems are reasons why I like 'urpmi' (apt-get),=20
which checks for dependencies and versions and installs all=20
that is needed automatically. I've had urmp fail only once=20
or twice with cascading dependencies. (A need B, but B=20
needs C, but C need D, which conflicts with E, etc...)
