I setup a RH9 box during the summer as a project. I got Apache setup
and running on it along with phpBB2 and then basically let it rot.
Anyways, I would like to give it some updates or something but I am not
too experienced in the whole process. I tried running "up2date -u" only
to receive the error:
There was an SSL error: [('SSL routines', 'SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE',
'certificate verify failed')]
A common cause of this error is the system time being incorrect. Verify
that the time on this system is correct.
So I do some googling and I believe the solution simply to be in
installing an update for up2date. I am digging around in ftp.redhat.com
and I am looking at the files
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/9/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/up2date-3.1.23-1.i386.rpm
and
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/9/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/up2date-gnome-3.1.23-1.i386.rpm
The problem is, I don't know which I need or even if those are the
correct files. It seems to me that one is kinda of the real update
while the other just changes the gui side of up2date. Should I install
both?
Should I do it with an rpm -Uvh filename?
Thanks very much,
Martin
