[huskerlug] Re: TV-out

The picture is very poor especially on text.

Whether you use RCA or S-Vid doesn't matter. The card converts to NTSC
which is about 300-350 horizontal lines of resolution. Which is half
quality of 800x600.

There are some exceptions. If you have component in direct to the tv
you will receive a little better quality resolution. But anytime you
downgrade to ntsc, you take a huge resolution hit.

The only way to achieve a decent picture on your computer is have a
multimedia monitor/tv with VGA inputs. They are becoming more populous
in the new tv's.

I suggest building the piece of crap pc for mp3's and getting a $50 dvd
player. After all, you're going to pay almost that for a tv-out card.
