I've heard that the freezer method works. I even heard and understood a sci=
entific explanation, but I've forgotten it. This is a good thing to try whe=
n a drive is failing and you have lost or mislaid your backups. I know you =
all make backups. Sometimes you just forget to check the media, so they tur=
n out to be fancy coasters. --gk
