I find http://pclinuxos.com to be quite good, based upon Mandriva, and uses synaptic for updates. Then Sword is one of the embedded apps. Sword is a Gnome Bible study program. Worth a look. Looked and Bible time and it is very good! But, only cursory view at this stage.
