[huskerlug] Re: Gentoo Network Help

Check the /proc/pci  file to make sure that you are using the correct 
driver.  Another thing you might try is booting from the LiveCD again 
and doing lsmod or checking log files to determine what is being loaded 
to make your network card word (assuming it works with the LiveCD)
