That's the weird part about BF and WineX some say yeah it's great and =
other
say it wasn't worth the trouble...Luckily my other two big games do play
under Linux...UT and UT2003 :) hopefully Epic will continue to keep up =
the
Linux game support. And while I doubt DICE or EA would ever do a Linux =
BF
client at lease they are smart enough to do a Linux server port.

Earlier this week I went out to the Transgaming website to try =
WineX3=3D20 by
running the BF1942 demo. I got BF to run a couple of times but on=3D20 =
the
third run it crashed and I was not able to get it running again,=3D20 =
even by
deleteing and reinstalling WineX3 and BF1942 (and the hidden=3D20
config files). I am running an GeForce2 MX400 video card which=3D20
glxgears gives a 600-650 fps rating to.=3D20
My NVIDIA card runs Tux Racer, FlightGear, Cannon Smash and and =
VERY=3D20
NEAT auto racing game called TORCS. All the other accelerated =
video=3D20
games on my MDK 9.1 distro run beautifully. I also have installed=3D20
StreetAtlas 5.0 under the GPL WINE and it works beautifully. At=3D20
work I have Visual FoxPro 6.0 running reasonably well on MDK 9.1=3D20
under WINE, as do the EXEs that I create with it. It just =
required=3D20
additions to the WINE config file. So, WINE has come a long way=3D20
toward running Windows apps, but running accelerated video games=3D20 =
under
WINE has a LONG way to go yet. =3D20
I canceled my Transgaming account. =3D20
=3D2D=3D20
