Earlier this week I went out to the Transgaming website to try WineX3=20
by running the BF1942 demo. I got BF to run a couple of times but on=20
the third run it crashed and I was not able to get it running again,=20
even by deleteing and reinstalling WineX3 and BF1942 (and the hidden=20
config files). I am running an GeForce2 MX400 video card which=20
glxgears gives a 600-650 fps rating to.=20

My NVIDIA card runs Tux Racer, FlightGear, Cannon Smash and and VERY=20
NEAT auto racing game called TORCS. All the other accelerated video=20
games on my MDK 9.1 distro run beautifully. I also have installed=20
StreetAtlas 5.0 under the GPL WINE and it works beautifully. At=20
work I have Visual FoxPro 6.0 running reasonably well on MDK 9.1=20
under WINE, as do the EXEs that I create with it. It just required=20
additions to the WINE config file. So, WINE has come a long way=20
toward running Windows apps, but running accelerated video games=20
under WINE has a LONG way to go yet. =20

I canceled my Transgaming account. =20
=2D=20
