[huskerlug] Re: Advice -- RedHat version support(No free lunch!)

Like the older versions of Windows --except Linux works/worked much
better!--6.4 was smaller and faster than later versions. If you had it on a
very good UPS, never messed with rebooting then it should have worked just
great!
Well, so far my WordPerfect 8 is working very well on SuSE 7.3,
which I probably won't be in a rush to upgrade, though I have went from 6.3,
to 7.3, and going to 8.3 would be a natural, but SuSE has made some changes
such as getting rid of Yast1, procinfo, and locate, which I find useful. I'll
seriously play around with FreeBSD on one computer, just to really ring it
out. It's harder to set up than the modern Linux distros, but one needs a
little challenge in one's life???
So, plugging away with SuSE 7.3 is one of the few certainties that I
have. ---Jim
