Thanks for that tip. I've heard of using these hand warmers, but needing
one (or two) every day if a bird stays through November, December, and into
January could get a bit pricey.

Yes, as a matter of fact. I own one myself and I have a current winter
hummer host who is using one with her return RUHU. Plus I have recommended
them to others who have purchased them.
It's a good alternative, and easy to use.

It might be an additional alternative for those of us under the arctic ice
sheet who also host hummingbirds. More and more, homeowners are telling me
that it is getting harder to find an incandescent spotlight, as mainly LED
versions are available now, which put off good light, but less heat.
