Hi Folks,

I rewrote the website's main page today.  Access it with the above links.

Prior to now that page was laid out with tables.  I converted it to CSS 
(Cascading Style Sheet) layout.  This greatly simplifies everything about the 
source code.

The reason I used all the time today to make this change was to (hopefully) 
reduce the extremely time consuming and laborous process of keeping the thing 
up to date.

The general appearance and look and feel are intended to be the same.

I made other improvements at the same time.

1) removed all the annoying popups,

2) added tiny little icons to indicate pdf's,

3) also added tiny icons to indicate links that lead off the website,

4) laid out the graph links so they are easier to read,

5) reduced the code to about 1/3 the previous so that it will load faster on 
dialup.

6) and fixed it so that it scales better when the browser window is resized.

It seems to work pretty good in Windows XP with Firefox and Opera but not 
quite right with Internet Explorer.

It's OK in Macintosh OS9 with iCAB and in Macintosh OS9 with Firefox, ICab and 
Safari but not quite right with Macintosh Internet Explorer.

In Linux it works almost perfectly with Firefox, Opera, and Konqueror.

If possible, we recommend that you use only Firefox or Opera and try to stay 
away from Internet Explorer.

Please give us some feedback on the website changes.  I'm particularily 
concerned that it is readable with older eyes.
