[hllug] Putty in Windows is what in Linux?

I was asked by a Windows user who's migrated to Linux what would be analogous
to Putty. Would that be ssh? I don't know diddly about a "secure shell" on
ANY platform. I told him I'd ask my LUG and get back with him. I'm trying to
persuade him to join our email list. His name is Helmut and he's the
"DearWebby" guy.

He bought a Vista laptop under minor-emergency circumstances, hates it, and has
replaced it with Ubuntu.
