Kapono; Donna Higuchi Subject: Aloha to all Aloha all, Four plus years ago I began working on a program allowing the women of Hawaii to no longer have to go to a doctor's office for a referral for a mammogram saving them money whether it be for either a co-pay or those without insurance a doctor's visit. I had met Josh Green who was interested in this and for the last 4 sessions of the legislature he tried to get this through but it didn't make it. This year I am happy to announce that the legislature passed the bill and it was sent to the Governor for his signature and the bill is to take effect as of July 1, 2012. This is really what I hope to be boost to our women of the State of Hawaii, giving them on less thing on their plates to go through and spend co-pays or doctor's visit and hopefully will promote more women just making the appointment with the radiologist and getting the mammogram. As I am still home bound from my back surgery pretty much and just begun my therapy, I'd be most appreciative if you could forward this out to the LAC members so they will be knowledgeable and for those that are due to have mammography from July on they will have these savings to do else with. I'm very much looking forward to coming back to meetings. I've not been notified when we are holding them and would be most appreciative if you could please keep me updated so when the surgeon releases me to do more activities you get to see me once again. Much Aloha always, Michele Michele R Robinson PO Box 4429 Kailua-Kona, HI 96745 808-333-5328 michele.robinson@xxxxxxxxx
