The Healthy Hawaii Initiative (HHI) has begun work on a project, as part of
their cooperative agreement with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), to add a
supplement to our state Physical Activity & Nutrition (PAN) Plan to address
priority areas that weAnyone interested may participate. Maylyn and I will
attend.

Department of Health, Healthy Hawaii Initiative
Physical Activity & Nutrition Plan Supplement
Planning Meetings
As part of our cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control the
Healthy Hawaii Initiative has begun a project to add a supplement to the state
Physical Activity & Nutrition (PAN) Plan which addresses priority areas that
were not originally included in the plan. These topical areas include:
a.. Breastfeeding
b.. Sugar sweetened beverages
c.. Energy dense foods
d.. Screen time (TV time)
Purpose:
The purpose of these meetings will be to collect input from stakeholders in
each community around the four topical areas. After the meetings take place, a
draft PAN Plan Supplement will be written using feedback collected statewide.
This draft will be sent back to meeting participants for review and comments
before being finalized.
