Hello everyone!
If you're all anything like me, you're probably sitting in your
home/apartment just staring at the calendar on the wall counting down the
days until flying season starts. In an effort to reduce eye strain, I
wanted to remind everyone that we have several events coming up at the hill
in preparation for the new year.
The first is the *Flight Instructor Refresher Clinic (FIRC). *This is
happening February 17th and 18th at the Museum and is geared towards flight
instructors renewing their certification. All members are welcome that are
interested in learning how to instruct or may some day think about becoming
a flight instructor. I believe the cost is $150 and you must attend both

The second thing happening this winter is *Ground School*! Every Wednesday
at 7:00pm running from February 1st to the start of the flying season (or
when we get done), I will be hosting ground school. This is geared towards
all pilots, newbie to veteran, and covers a wide range of topics from
Aerodynamics to FARs to Weather to general safety (and more!). Also if
there are any instructors out there passionate about a topic, I'm open to
any helping hands to take over any subjects they would like to talk about.
Also, a reminder that ground school isn't limited only to Harris Hill
members. If anyone has friends on the outside who has questions about
soaring, bring them along.
