Dear all,
At last weeks' meeting between HBA's Chairman, Phil Moon, and PR Manager,
Sean Dunderdale, IRN's Managing Director, Tim Malloy, offered to reduce the
cost of the licence to use IRN bulletins for HBA member stations.
The standard licence for small-scale radio stations is to increase on
renewal to £250+VAT (i.e. £300) from 1st January.
For HBA member stations who do not require access to the Net Newsroom, Tim
offered to reduce the licence fee to £195+VAT (i.e. £234), representing a
saving of £66 or 12%. As those stations that access the internet via the
NHS's "N3" network, and other stations whose ISP only provides them with a
dynamic IP address, cannot the Net Newsroom anyway, we expect that the lack
of access to the Net Newsroom will not be an issue for a large number of
stations.
Any HBA member which wishes to continue to avail itself of the Net Newsroom
facility will need to continue to pay the full £250+VAT.
Regards,
Nigel
