[HUG] Re: reverse glass framing?

Eric,

I just sent a reply, but realize I may have misinterpreted what your after. If you want to sandwich a print between glass and a backing, that is another matter. There are gadgets to help you do this. If you look at the catalogs I recommended, especially #1, I think you'll find something that will do the job. But you should know that one of the reasons people use a mat is because the image can be damaged by direct contact with a glass surface. The mat serves as a "spacer." You can buy special spacer devices, but I've never used them. They probably require a frame. But they would also be in catalog #1 (United Framing Supply). Oops, I just noticed that their name is "United Mfrs. Supplies, Inc." Sorry for the slip-up. Their phone # is 800-645-7260.

Anyone know how to have a print mounted to the back of glass?
I've got an upcoming show and the show's organizer doesn't want prints matted or framed, just mounted.

I've seen prints mounted reverse on glass - nothing else.
Usually I'd find this a little too sleek, but it could work well for these prints and this show.

What is this kind of mounting called? Cost? Is it something a good framer could handle? I plan to ask my local frame shop on Monday, but I thought the LUG / HUG community might have some ideas.

as always - thanks,
Eric
