[HUG] Re: motor f for 203fe questions

From: Eric Korenman asked:

Anyone used this item?

Yes. That is, the version for the 2000-series cameras.

Can I shoot with a cable release and have the camera adavance automatically?

Yes, but not using an electrical cable release.
Because...

IE - do you shoot using the normal release button?

You indeed do.

Or to re-phras--- how does the grip work?!

It is no more than a motor winder. No controls, no things to set.
All it does is wind the film on as soon as it senses that the camera is released.

I find it does not work well as a grip.
You still need two hands to operate the camera, so if your right hand would use the winder as a grip, your left hand will have to do everything. The way i use the thing, i change to a right hand grip: hook the right hand thumb behind the winder, right idex finger on the release button, other right hand fingers as support beneath the camera, and use my left hand to set focus, shutterspeed and diaphragm.
