[HUG ] Re: frankenstein camera

Eric,

Don't forget that, at least with LF lenses (conventional design), the lens mm is the distance that the lens is from the sensor when the lens is focused at infinity. Without the body being basically 100% bellows, you will have no movements. This is why the ARC body is ALL bellows - so it can use a 35mm LF lens and still give rise/fall/tilt. If you have access to a SWC, just look at how close the rear of the 38mm Biogon is to the film plane, and then think about how you could have built-in any movements. Any of the view camera (4x5 or 6x9) solutions with a bag bellows will work. But to try and cobble up something from an existing Hassy (even a SWC) would be v-e-r-y difficult. Basically impossible.

I was hoping to get under 35mm.
Seems far fetched now as I learn more.
