Eric,
I haven't followed all the messages in this thread, so what I am
about to suggest may not be practical, in which case please ignore
it. In particular I am not clear whether you already have a CFV back
or are planning to get one.
In any case the link at the bottom may be of interest to others as well.
If you do not already have the back, you may want to consider the
Mamiya 645 system with their ZD back. I think that you can buy a kit
consisting of body, digital back and standard lens for about the cost
of the CFV back. I do not know how the two compare as far as image
quality is concerned, but the Mamiya back is 22 MP and 48x36 mm. The
interesting thing is that they have a 28 mm wide angle lens which
covers the full 645 frame. I think that this is as wide as you can
get with a digital back. Of course this option does not allow
movements, but neither do the latest possibilities that have been
discussed.
I understand that a big advantage of the CFV back is that you can
also use it with your Hasselblad bodies and lenses. However, Mamiya
have recently announced an adaptor that will allow to mount
Hasselblad V-system lenses on their 645 cameras.

I was hoping to get under 35mm.
Seems far fetched now as I learn more.
