Hi Eric,
Have you tried channel 17 or higher, I know not all modes work on the lower
channels. I think channels 1-12 are classic channels, 13-16 are plus
channels and 17-32 are the multimax channels that allow zones to be used. I
have multimaxes and only use 17-32 because I use the different channels in
my studio to turn off and on fill lights as needed. It's only a guess but
worth a try.
Regards
Franc

details-
Using pocket wizard tranceiver on Hasselblad 553 ELX, set to channel #1.
Firing via another transmitter set to channel #1
1) Flash port -> to 5 pin din plug to trigger 553 elx blad
press test button on transmitter--> camera fires
2) Then additional hooked PC port from lens to camera/flash port on
pocket wizard trancsiver (ie, relay mode)
press test button --> nada. Camera does not trigger
(light on tranceiver does show it received signal)
3) Unhook 5 pin din cable to camera.
Trigger camera manually -- PC port on lens triggers tranceiver which
will fire a strobe elsewhere on channel #1.
So -- wiring works to fire camera remotely.
wiring works to fire distance strobe from PC port on lens.
But relay mode will not work.
I tried flip/flopping the ports on the pocket wizard. still no effect.
Interestingly, I tried PC-> hotshoe rig to try to use the hotshoe on
the pocketwizard for relay mode. same effect. camera won't fire.
You can manually overide 'relay' mode. But I haven't.
Even tried another transceiver unit. Same behavior.
hope that makes sense to someone out there! Where is the bug in the
system?
Eric
