[HUG] Re: The Public Nuisance

Congratulations Uncle on this momentous occasion! I know others join me in
wishing you good fortune and good light in this new phase (or perhaps Phase I),
of your life.

It is good to know that you will have more time to spend supporting the film
industry. I know this will have a significant impact on the continued
manufacturing of said.

I do wish you well and look forward to your visiting. I will keep a close eye
on (and work to ensure that) the rocky coast of northern California remains
intact until you arrive.
  Again my best wishes,
  boB

                Dear Friends,

Those of you who have front doors with deadbolt locks may want
to slip away from the computer for a few minutes and make sure they are
secured. I have an announcement.

As of yesterday I have retired from my primary food-getting
profession and am free to undertake my secondary ones ? photography and cadging
meals. I have invested in a GPS system and am currently in the process of
planning an extended trip to all of your houses where I shall stay for
indefinite periods and give advice. No need to thank me.

Before I commence this life-threatening road trip I will need to
spend a decade in the local photographic trade ? I start on the 7th of January
in the retail side. I hope in time to advance to a position where I can dictate
the policies of major manufacturers. I have already sounded out Agfa and Forte
and they were good enough to offer me the position of CEO. I may hold out for
something more exalted, with a gold uniform and personal assistants.

I have even started to study the digital world on the web and
through our local library. As I have 5 Hasselblad bodies and 6 backs I will not
buy a new Crockoflex D anytime soon, nor will I spring for the CFV. But the
firm I hope to work for has an H3D in its rental department so I may be able to
play with that. As soon as I can get it to output onto Kodak Portra rather than
a screen I?ll be set.

               Uncle Dick
