Hi Tim,
Yes, I think you are right there - the Best Camera In The World!
Not sure what bayonet ring is standard on the 905SWC but certainly
the CFE lenses came with the plastic bayonet ring, which is hard to
tell apart from the metal one visually. I find it nicer to use as you
avoid that metal against metal sound you get with Bay 6 filters using
the old one. Much softer feel and doest show scratches.
I have an SWC/M with CF lens with no self timer - I think they were
last seen on the C lenses. That would have been a nice feature to
leave in.
The camera is a joy to use with the dark slide holder. I took a
stroll along the beach this morning with my SWC/M, 500CM/80mm and the
A12 back with a roll of the new Velvia 50 in my Billingham Hadly Pro,
switching between bodies as the need arose. Really nice kit to walk
around with. I had a great time :-)
Saludos,
Antonio

Antonio,
Now you have got yourself the Best Camera In The World baqck in
business. I look closely at my 905SWC - and is this outer
bayonette ring of plastic? I did not know. Do you have the SWC
with the self Timer?
This dark slide holder makes quite a difference. You will notice
that the camera now os a lot more intuitive to use.

Well, I finally go my SWC/M back from its service with David Knapman
and it is now looking and operating pretty much like new :-)
Mine is an SWC/M with CF lens and new style viewfinder (which means I
have bubble levels on both the finder and the body). I had the front
bayonet ring replaced with a new plastic one - much nicer to use and
of course it doesnt show scratches like the metal one used to.
In the end I opted for a brand new A12 back with darkslide holder and
I am really glad I did (thanks to those of you who recomended the new
A12 over the previous model), the darkslide holder makes little
difference to camera size, especially the SWC/M and makes using the
camera much much easier - just whip out the darkslide and put it in
the back.
