Hi Tom,
The SWC is an amazing camera.
There are a few of those in my cupboard starting with its
predeccesor the Supreme Wide Angle of 1954.
I once took this oldtimer with me when I was invited with a few friends to
visit Carl Zeiss in Oberkochen.
One of the older gentleman explained to us that in those days they used
different kinds of glass for specific purposes.
He admitted this was no longer possible with later SWCs.
When driving through Gothenburg take some time to visit the factory.
I am sure they serve a decent cup of coffee.
The Hasselblad site still shows quite a few lenses that are discontinued.
It is the price of progress that all good existing products
will be replaced by new ones that still have to prove their excellence.
BTW do not worry too much about shutter springs.
In 35 years of Hasselblad use I only had one shutter fail me because of a
broken spring.
It happened with the first lens I bought new.
Since then I firmly believe in pre owned lenses.
Richard.

Planet? Despite that I drive through Gothenburg several times per year, I
did not know about this.
They had an article on the Hasselblad web site, that I am no longer able
to find, telling about a new sort of spring steel that increased shutter
life, from this number of exposures to that number of exposures. Anyone
who do remember? It could have been a Hasselblad Magazine article.
I am glad I secured myself one of these unique cameras. One of the best
ever made.

No, only the Shadow do... oh... he just told me. 47,369,245 unless
you are Norvegan (a vegan Norwegian), then only a couple of dozen!
;-)
The SWC is no longer made. My local distributor has only one new one
in stock. When it's gone, that's it for the US west coast!
