He was very clear on that for outdoor/natural light the VC was the right film. We were several photographers pointing out that this could be clearer stated in the written film documentation. - Which he agree upon.

Maybe your Kodak rep should spend some more time reading productsheets from
his employer.
NC and VC are both suitable for daylight and flash use.
Most flash units will give a color temp similar to daylight.
It is a matter of preference which of the two NC or VC you choose.
