Except for being a technical flop it is now pretty evident that the M8 is a commercial distaster for Leica. Instead of generating income it is now draining the small Leica organisation for recources. Further; Leica has been bought up and is no longer a public company. The buyers are the austrian Hofman family with rather limited resources to put into Leica.
