When I was in Australia (1968) we had lamb chops and fried tomatoes every
morning for breakfast.
A group of professional associates including me went to a bar and polished
off a pitcher of red wine mid-morning. I told them I knew they must make all
their important decisions before 10 AM! The wine was delicious; I never had a
bad wine in Australia.
On a Sunday our Australian friends took us to a beach near Sydney for a
picnic. They had a bottle of wine but no corkscrew. Attempting to open the
bottle with a screwdriver was ultimately successful, but not without several of
us
getting a wine shower!
Best regards, David at the top of the Chesapeake Bay
