As Far as I remember the electronics in both the PME 5 and the PME 51 were
redesigned.
One of the features of the later design is the EV value indicated is less
influenced by the condition of the battery.
Earlier models tended to give a higher value than actual with weaker batteries.

What is the difference between the PME-3 and PME-51 metered prisms? Is it
just the number or are there more technical differences to take into account.
And if any, what does that mean for use, usability and battery-life.?
