Hello Henk,I've posted this text to somebody else on this forum before, offline. Hope it answers your question. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++PME: the original PME finder
PME3: Introduced at the same time as the 503 camera. Since the 503 featured the Acute-Matte screen, the PME3 had a re-designed light-metering system, to cope with the characteristics of the Acute-Matte.
PME5: Introduced at the same time as the 205 camera (or a bit before, but nobody seemed to notice the cut-out). It had a new prism, new chassis, new "foot" etc, to make it compatible with the 205 LCD screen. I think the eyepiece was re-designed as well.
PME51: Electronic re-design of the PME5. Reduced power consumption and better metering precision in low temperatures. Illumination of the ISO/aperture scale (those you use for setting).
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Best regards, Per NordlundOptical Design\HasselbladWhat is the difference between the PME-3 and PME-51 metered prisms? Is it just the number or are there more technical differences to take into account. And if any, what does that mean for use, usability and battery-life…?
