[HUG] Re: OUCH ! need a softrelease for my 500 c/m

Dear Nephew Eric,

The Hasselblad Finger Syndrome is well known in the orthopaedic
departments of most major hospitals. It is most frequently seen in fashion
photographers who use the older 500 C and C/M cameras. The swelling and pain
at the end of the forefinger can be quite severe, limiting mobility and the
ability to dial for pizza at the end of the day. Some sufferers have ended
up having to clean their right nostrils with…..but I digress.

The simplest and most economical solution is to get a second
Hasselblad body – say a 500ELX or a 553 ELX and equip it with the large
Astronaut Trigger plate release. These work well and look cool, particularly
if you stomp round the studio in a moon suit. I have a full moon suit. The
last time I wore it was at full moon.
