Wow - 500ELM costs 1/2 of the used 200 motor grip.
Can you trigger a 500ELM electronically?
Oh yeah. And easily too. Get the right "DIN" plug, a piece of cable and
a
momentary action switch. Solder it together in the right way and you are
gOod to go. That is what I did.
Of course Hasselblad also produced the necessary cabling etc.
But for me this was the cheapest and easiest solution.
It indeed is.
Though the cable shouldn't be too long, i.e. the external electrical
resistance not too high, or the trigger becomes unreliable. But you can go
long enough for most purposes before that happens.
If not, Hasselblad also sold a solid state cable amplifier, plus long reels
with amplifier incorporated.
And you should be able to trigger the camera by radio too.
I don't know though who is selling a suitable transmitter/receiver
combination (Quantum?).
It will cost a bit more than a cable, a switch, and a plug though.
