Ok.. I am going to rent one next weekend.. I was going to rent it this
weekend but it's raining all day and I'd like to go shoot outside.. It's 80
bucks for the weekend..

An F4 lens doesn't bug me that much. One stop isn't going to make or
break me..

Ideally I'd like I'd to find a Canadian seller to avoid paying import
taxes.

Oh, I own a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV scanner. I read that some have
just sliced off one of the tabs in the film holder and used it to scan the
negs. They then stitch the two images together..

Has anyone tried this? Minolta is out of the scanner biz and I am worried
that if I do this and it somehow causes the film scanner to stop working
that I am SOL..

Plus I figure the scanner is going to stop scanning at regular 35mm
anyhow. Not quite sure what slicing the little divider off would do.

  Thanks

   J
