[HUG ] Lens Repair - Round 1

Got a call today from my camera store that my 50mm was in from HB NJ. Went to 
pick it up. Watched the guy unwrap it from the bubble wrap and took off the 
rear cap; all fine. Took off the front cap; looked good; filter mount 
ring looked new.
Then I looked at the front element. Saw some reflections about 4mm in from the 
outer edge. Thought is was relfections from the overhead flourescent lights. 
Looked like a series of small white rectangles in a circumference line around 
about 1/8 of the lens. The rectangles went from the largest one (about 2mm X 
1mm) in a row around to the smallest one that looked almost like a little 
scratch, but a bit thicker...
Took it to another room to get rid of the lights overhead and it was still 
there! Looked like some kind of scuff marks on the inside surface of the outer 
element. Almost like the edge of a polisher had caught the inside of the glass.
Back to NJ...
And the GG back to the Flex didn't come back; guess that was harder to fix...
