[HUG ] Re: Lens PC socket grounded to body?

The PC-socket of the C-lenses are definitely grounded to the lens housing (And ergo to the camera housing). I suppose the same will be the case for newer lenses. By the way a wiring diagram for the ELX can be found tne the manual.

any real electronic geeks (like me) out there?

In trying to figure out why my 503ELX and 40mm FLE won't work with a
pocket wizard in 'relay mode' I found:

That on on setup the PC socket on the lens and the motor drive cable
both seem to be grounded to metal housing of the camera.
IE, in the right situation, you can get current drawing across the PC
socket and the motor drive cable (around 6V).
There is no current flowing through the PC socket itself, as expected,
but the common ground is sure to be what is fouling the 'relay' mode
on the pocket wizard.

Question: Isn't the PC socket on the lens supposed to isolated and not
grounded to the camera lens mount?
It is definitely flowing through the camera mount (and not FLE's
electronic contacts).
