Hi Richard, That depends on what back you have/buy. Most use a CF card but some use a dedicated image bank (HD) and if the do they are supplied with one. As for the quality a 22Mp MF back would be equal to about a 50Mp 35mm setup. The 2 main reasons for this are 1) pixel size and 2) MF backs do not use an AA filter as it is done in the software at time of processing. About 18 months ago Victor magazine did a comparison and the Canon image had no detail compared to the HB digital. If you own a piece of Hasselblad gear you should register it at hasselblad.com so you can get Victor magazine and the News letters free on-line, plus they have a whole section dedicated to the V series cameras. For me MF digital made sense, to shoot 25 rolls of neg film and processing was $550.00 per year add to that 30 scans for $540.00 thats $1090.00 year. I bought my first digital back & Acc.(Kodak proback plus 16Mp) for 4500.00 in '05 used it for 3 years and sold it in '08 for $2200.00 and bought a PhaseOne 22mp for $4500.00, finally in '09 I came accross a H3D39 kit for $10,000 so I sold my V series bodies to purchase that system. All those V series lenses work great on the H system. I am not up on the V compatible digital backs. How well would a 22mp back compare with the results from a Canon 5D MII when paired with CF series lenses? Do they store to CF or Sd cards....
