With a raw file no info is filtered out by the camera or in this case
scanner.
with any other file format save, jpeg or tiff the camera or in this case
scanner pre edits out lots of info based on settings you really don't
probably understand. Or even if you did you'd maybe change your mind once
you were in hands on image tweaking mode.

I like to have all the info that was there when the image was scanned or
captured:
And have an interface: Photoshop not scanner software, to be able to then
deal with it.
In my case on auto pilot as I can do Photoshop in my sleep. Drunk.
