Hi Oliver,
I have an Epson V700 and have purchased the betterscanning MF holder with
Glass. I often scan 6x12 negs shot with a horseman. I have made many
20"x40" prints from the scans I have made. The standard film holder is OK
for prints upto about 8"x10" but not much bigger even after following the
focus instructions supplied by Epson. Epson USA only made the film holders
focusable after examining the betterscanning product and dealing with
multiple complaints from the V700/V750 owners about the soft focus. It is
definitly worth the investment and once you have it focused, you will be
impressed.

Commercial scans already have that done during the process at the lab. i
also read somewhere that the height of the filmholder is quit important
for
this scanner. Look

Thanks for the link; that is a thorough review. I also looked at
www.betterscanning.com, referenced in photo-i. Although the height of the
film holder is obviously critical, I doubt that Epson would knowingly turn
out a product that causes an out-of-focus condition in 100% of the MF
cases.
The Epson holder has a single coutout for 6x12. The "betterscanning"
holder
uses T-bars to clamp the film strip between frames. Does anyone have
experience with this product?
Oliver
