Hi All,

I would tend to disagree with Jean-Luc on 2 points about the V700. First the 
lens and CCD are in the bottom part of the scanner, the top housing has the 
lamp only. Secondly, you need to  adjust the film holder for your individual 
unit. Epson realized that the manufacturing tolerances are not close enough to 
produce the sharpest scan so they made the film holders adustable and the 
aftermarket holders have even more precise adjustment.  I regularly scan MF 
film 6x12 (ISO100)at 3200 dpi emulsion side down and print 12x24 inch prints. I 
have found that at 3200 dpi I can see the film grain before I can see the 
pixels from the scan.
