Jim,

How big are your VueScan RAW scan files from 6X6 color transparancies?

What I like about Vue Scan is that you can get a RAW scan, the equivalent of a RAW camera image. The RAW Vue Scan image is totally unadulterated by the Vue Scan software, just like the RAW camera image is unadulterated by the camera firmware. Lightroom/Bridge/ Photoslop loves it and you can then process the image however you wish. And like camera RAW, those seemingly blocked highlights and 'black cat in a coal mine' shadows do indeed contain detail that you can pull out. Vue Scan will also make multiple passes in order to build-up more information in the o/p file (at least with my scanner - ArtixScan 120tf).

I also have VueScan Pro and will be doing some direct A/B comparisons. Should be interesting.
