[HUG] Re: HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

DEAR UNCLE DICK,

I don't know what NASA IS using now but I am sure you know that
they used the lunar version of the MK-70 cartographic 'Blad in those days.

The good news is that our temp ranges never vary much. Each day
usually goes from 25 at night to 34 during the day, plus or minus a degree
or two all year. What does change is the humidity! It can go up to 100% in
Sept & Oct but is down around 50-60 % from mid Nov to July.really beautiful
weather!

                        HOLIDAY CHEERS!

                                    BOB

Dear Bob,

Island in the sun, Huh..Come to Western Australia on Christmas
2008 and I'll show you an island in the sun. Like 40 degrees Celsius in the
shade yesterday. Hotter today. I blame Joanne Simpson - when she left for
England she fiddled with the thermostat and we are suffering the
consequences. I have notified the British Meteorological Service to follow
her round with a wet fog bank whenever she goes out photographing.

But I am not unhappy. I received a Hasselblad gift for Christmas
yesterday. My daughter purchased a glass-fronted 50th anniversary HB clock
on eBay and it arrived in time for the holiday. It will take pride of place
in the studio. I suspect it will not keep time for nuts but when it grinds
to a halt I can replace the little plastic drive mechanism.

I wonder if the new Hasselblad administration will have
inventive ideas like the old one?

One final thought came to me as I re-read my 5th edition Wildi (
And got a piece of information that I had missed all these years - shows
what a concentrated mind and eggnog can do..) was:

What is NASA using to take their hand-held space pictures with
these days? I see big colourful pics from the space station and the
shuttles, but what are they using?

            Uncle Dick
