[HUG] Re: EPSON flatbed problem

"The "betterscanning" holder uses T-bars to clamp the film strip between frames. Does anyone have
experience with this product?"

I'm about to. I just ordered one from Better Scanning and should have it in about ten days or so. I'll post my reaction.

Also, if anyone's interested, I found out last night that Microtek began shipping the Artixscan M1 yesterday. B&H will be one of the first dealers to have them.......

Commercial scans already have that done during the process at the lab. i
also read somewhere that the height of the filmholder is quit important for
this scanner. Look
here:http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews/interactive/Epson%%0V700/page_1.htm";

Thanks for the link; that is a thorough review. I also looked at
www.betterscanning.com, referenced in photo-i. Although the height of the
film holder is obviously critical, I doubt that Epson would knowingly turn
out a product that causes an out-of-focus condition in 100% of the MF cases. The Epson holder has a single coutout for 6x12. The "betterscanning" holder
uses T-bars to clamp the film strip between frames. Does anyone have
experience with this product?
Oliver
