[HUG ] Re: Appropriate prism for a 500C/M

I guess you had the right prism that probably did not fit all the way
because it was obstructed at the front end of the camera.
That happens when the mounting plate of the finder is slightly bent.
The finder will not move all the way in the camera and leaves about a
millimeter at the side of the film back.

In fact even finders from the earliest Hasselblads made in 1949 will fit

your 500C/M and vice versa.
The first 45° prism NC 2, and later PM3, PM 5and the PM 45 will
all do the job.
Look for a PM3, PM5 or PM45 if you want a finder with an accessory
shoe on top.
The PM 45 has the advantage of built in dioptre correction from -2
till+1
dioptre.

Hasselblad cameras from the 500 series offer amazing compatibility.
Compatibility forwards and backwards.
